Welcome to iAAMCS

The Institute for African-American Mentoring in Computing Sciences (iAAMCS, pronounced ‘i am cs’) serves as a national resource for all African-American computer science students and faculty. The objective of iAAMCS is to increase the number of African-Americans receiving Ph.D. degrees in computing sciences, promote and engage students in teaching and training opportunities, and add more diverse researchers into the advanced technology workforce.


ANNOUNCEMENTS

NSBC Conference 2016

During Summer 2016, iAAMCS will hold its first conference with the objective of serving as a National Society for Blacks in Computing (NSBC). NSBC will be held on June 9-11th at the Twelve Hotel (Atlantic Station) in Atlanta, Georgia. For more information on NSBC, click here.

CONGRATULATIONS DR. CHERYL SEALS!!!

A special congratulations to our very own Dr. Cheryl Seals for being named SREB Faculty Mentor of the Year during the 22nd Annual Institute on Teaching and Mentoring. Dr. Seals received this award on October 31st in Arlington, VA.

iAAMCS Project Presentations

As part of a SITE visit conducted by NSF, members of the iAAMCS Leadership Team gave presentations on their respective projects. These respective presentations discussed the scope, current outcomes, and future plans for each project. These presentations can be accessed by clicking here.

 

iAAMCS Promotional Materials

During the 2014-15 year, iAAMCS has updated its promotional materials in an effort to improve the advertisement of the organization. These materials consists of a brochure, flyer, and poster. 2016 ACM Richard Tapia Conference
